Aiza Ahmed (b. 1997, Lahore, Pakistan, lives and works in Brooklyn, NY) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores borders, migration, performativity, and diasporic identity. She intertwines painting, drawing, sculpture, writing, and installation practices with personal and public histories, memories, traumas, and ancestry originating from the South Asian diaspora. Ahmed earned her BFA from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY (2020) and received her MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in Providence, RI (2024). In 2024, she was selected for the William Kentridge & The Centre for the Less Good Idea residency through the Brown Arts Institute in Providence, Rhode Island, as well as the Macedonia Institute in Chatham, New York.
